  • 1 pack Wonton wrappers Can substitute with mini taco shells
  • 2 tablespoons Coconut oil Vegetable oil works too
For the Sushi Rice
  • 1 cup Sushi rice Short-grain rice recommended
  • 2 tablespoons Rice vinegar Apple cider vinegar can be used
  • 1 tablespoon Sugar Adjust sweetness as desired
  • 1 teaspoon Salt Sea salt is recommended
For the Filling
  • 1 medium Avocado Can substitute with tofu for vegan option
  • 8 ounces Tuna steak (sushi-grade) Can substitute with salmon, shrimp, or a veggie blend
  • 2 tablespoons Kewpie mayonnaise Regular mayonnaise can be used in a pinch
  • 1 tablespoon Tomato ketchup or sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Sriracha Optional, adjust spice level to preference
  • 1 teaspoon Lime zest Lemon zest is a good substitute
For Garnishing
  • 1 tablespoon Furikake or black sesame seeds Chopped nori can be used as an alternative

Step-by-Step Instructions for Sushi Wonton Cones
  1. Preheat your oven to 175 °C (350 °F). Shape each wonton wrapper around a cream horn or cone mold, sealing with water. Arrange on a baking sheet.
  2. In a large skillet, heat coconut oil to 175 °C (350 °F). Fry the wonton cones for 2-3 minutes until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
  3. Cook sushi rice according to package instructions. Mix warm rice with rice vinegar, sugar, and salt. Let it cool to room temperature.
  4. In a mixing bowl, combine cubed or flaked sushi-grade tuna with Kewpie mayonnaise, tomato sauce, sriracha, and lime zest. Mix well.
  5. Fill each cooled wonton cone with sushi rice, then add avocado slices, and top with tuna mixture.
  6. Garnish with furikake or black sesame seeds. Serve upright in muffin tins or foam blocks.
