Ingredients
  

For the Pasta
  • 8 oz pasta any type
For the Chicken
  • 1 lb chicken breast can swap for plant-based alternatives
  • 2 tbsp butter olive oil or vegan butter can be used
For the Flavor Base
  • 3 cloves garlic fresh garlic preferred
  • 1 medium onion can substitute with shallots
For the Creamy Sauce
  • 1 cup heavy cream coconut milk or cashew cream for dairy-free
  • 1 cup chicken broth vegetable broth for vegetarian options
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese nutritional yeast can replace for vegan
  • 1 tbsp Italian seasoning can substitute with oregano or basil
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes omit for milder taste
For the Seasoning
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley other herbs can also work

Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a rolling boil. Add your choice of pasta and cook for 8–10 minutes until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water before draining.
  2. In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Season chicken with salt and pepper, then add to the skillet. Cook for 6–8 minutes until golden brown.
  3. Add another tablespoon of butter to the skillet. Once melted, sauté minced garlic and diced onion for 3–4 minutes until fragrant.
  4. Pour in the heavy cream and chicken broth. Add Italian seasoning and red pepper flakes. Let simmer for 5 minutes.
  5. Return the sautéed chicken and cooked pasta to the skillet. Toss everything together and adjust seasoning as needed. Cook for an additional 2 minutes.
  6. Plate the pasta hot, garnishing with grated Parmesan cheese and chopped parsley.
