For the Cheese Sauce
  • 2 tablespoons All-Purpose Flour use gluten-free flour for dietary needs
  • 1 cup Milk any plant-based milk works for dairy-free option
  • 2 tablespoons Whole Grain Mustard yellow mustard can be used as a substitute
  • 1 cup White Cheddar Cheese swap for mozzarella or gouda if desired

Equipment

Method
 

Prep and Bake
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9-inch springform pan with melted unsalted butter.
  2. Roll out the pizza dough until it reaches about 1/8 inch thickness and cut it into rectangles measuring approximately 1.5 inches by 2 inches.
  3. Wrap each lil' smokie in a piece of dough, ensuring to pinch the seams tightly.
  4. Arrange the wrapped smokies in the greased pan snugly with the seam side facing inward.
  5. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Let the dish cool for about 10 minutes before serving.
Make the Mustard Cheese Sauce
  1. Melt 2 tablespoons of butter in a saucepan and whisk in 2 tablespoons of flour, cooking for about 2 minutes.
  2. Gradually add 1 cup of milk, stirring until smooth and thickened.
  3. Stir in 2 tablespoons of whole grain mustard and 1 cup of shredded white cheddar cheese until melted and creamy.
  4. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
