Prep and Bake
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9-inch springform pan with melted unsalted butter.
- Roll out the pizza dough until it reaches about 1/8 inch thickness and cut it into rectangles measuring approximately 1.5 inches by 2 inches.
- Wrap each lil' smokie in a piece of dough, ensuring to pinch the seams tightly.
- Arrange the wrapped smokies in the greased pan snugly with the seam side facing inward.
- Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until golden brown.
- Let the dish cool for about 10 minutes before serving.
Make the Mustard Cheese Sauce
- Melt 2 tablespoons of butter in a saucepan and whisk in 2 tablespoons of flour, cooking for about 2 minutes.
- Gradually add 1 cup of milk, stirring until smooth and thickened.
- Stir in 2 tablespoons of whole grain mustard and 1 cup of shredded white cheddar cheese until melted and creamy.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
