  • 1 sheet Puff Pastry Ready-rolled for convenience
  • 1 large Egg Beaten for egg wash
For the Toppings
  • 1 cup Freshly Grated Parmesan Can substitute with aged cheddar
  • 1 tablespoon Sweet Smoked Paprika Can use regular paprika for milder taste
  • to taste Cayenne Pepper Adjust for spice preference

Method
 

Steps
  1. Preheat your oven to 190°C (375°F) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Roll out the ready-rolled puff pastry until smooth and about 0.5 cm thick, then cut out star shapes.
  3. Transfer the cut-out stars to the lined baking sheets, spacing them evenly.
  4. Brush each star with beaten egg and sprinkle half with Parmesan and half with paprika and cayenne pepper.
  5. Bake for 8-10 minutes until golden, keeping an eye on them to avoid over-browning.
  6. Remove from the oven, let cool slightly, and serve warm.
