  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder adjust for spice preference
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder

For Cooking
  • 1.5 cups water
  • 1 bunch fresh cilantro, chopped for garnish

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Heat the oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add the cumin seeds and mustard seeds, allowing them to splutter for 1-2 minutes.
  2. Add the onion and sauté for 5-7 minutes until golden brown.
  3. Mix in the ginger-garlic paste and stir for about 1 minute.
  4. Add the chopped tomatoes and cook for 4-5 minutes until they break down.
  5. Sprinkle in the turmeric, red chili powder, garam masala, coriander powder, and salt. Mix well.
  6. Fold in the cubed potatoes and stir gently for about 2 minutes.
  7. Pour in the water, bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 10-15 minutes.
  8. Add the green peas and cook uncovered for an additional 5 minutes.
  9. Garnish with chopped cilantro. Serve hot.
