Preparation Steps
  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C). Grease a 9-inch springform pan with butter or cooking spray.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine crushed vanilla wafers and melted butter. Press into the bottom of the springform pan.
  3. Beat cream cheese in a large bowl until smooth. Gradually add granulated sugar, then add eggs one at a time. Fold in mashed bananas and vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whip heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Gently fold in the banana pudding mix.
  5. Carefully fold the whipped cream mixture into the cream cheese base.
  6. Pour the creamy filling over the crust and smooth the top. Bake for 50-55 minutes until set.
  7. Let cool at room temperature for about an hour, then cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours.
  8. Remove the springform pan sides and garnish with sliced bananas and additional vanilla wafers.
