- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a medium-sized baking dish.
- Bring water to a boil in a large pot, add the mixed winter vegetables and steam or blanch for 3-4 minutes until just tender.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the steamed vegetables, cream of mushroom soup, milk, and shredded cheese. Mix in thyme, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
- Transfer the mixture into the greased baking dish and smooth the top with a spatula.
- In a separate bowl, mix breadcrumbs and melted butter until coated and sprinkle over the casserole.
