Ingredients

For the Casserole
  • 1 pound Breakfast Sausage Provides savory depth and protein; substitute with chicken sausage for a lighter option.
  • 1 cup Dried Cranberries Offers sweetness and a chewy texture; avoid fresh cranberries as they add excess moisture.
  • 6 ounces Stuffing Mix (Herb-Seasoned) Acts as the base that absorbs the custard.
  • 5 large Eggs Bind the casserole together; using room-temperature eggs helps them incorporate better.
  • 2 cups Milk Whole milk is preferred for richness, or use a dairy-free option if needed.
  • 1 cup Shredded Cheddar or Swiss Cheese Adds flavor and creaminess; feel free to use your favorite cheese or omit for a dairy-free version.
  • 2 tablespoons Butter For greasing the baking dish; cooking spray can be a convenient substitute.
  • to taste Salt Enhances overall flavor.

  7. Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes, then remove foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until golden brown.
